Arriving on Stage
Everyday we make choices that affect our preparation and ultimately our performance. Every decision we make may open up new avenues but may also close of other options, avenues or opportunities permanently.
In order for us to be in a position to give our best, perform at or beyond our potential, we need to be on stage, wherever that may be. Preparation takes various forms with many options open to us. How we reach our performance objective can be viewed from the perspective of choices made regarding how we get to our workplace.
The tram perhaps represents an option clearly laid out and offering no room for personal detours. We set forth on this path and know along which route the journey will take us before delivering us at our destination. It is a tried and trusted journey moving from A to B to C.
On the other hand, deciding on an individual solution to take us to the stage is akin to getting to work by scooter or motorcycle. Yet today this choice itself opens up further questions in terms of which model to select.
Regardless of our choices, each aspect of preparation including the journey in terms of how we arrive to our place of work, plays a part on our eventual performance. And once we arrive at our theatre of work, we leave the effort of preparation behind us to move on stage and begin our endeavour.
